James (Jimmy) Wayne Casteel, age 58, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Frankie Bailey, pastor of Cowboy Church of Young County, officiating. Interment will follow in Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Jimmy was born on December 29, 1958 in Olney, Texas to James Edward and Roxa (Culp) Casteel. He graduated from Newcastle High School in 1977 and was a lifelong resident of Young County. He loved woodworking and was a carpenter by trade. He started his own business building shipping containers for Air Tractor. He dearly loved spending time with his family and driving around in his Corvette. Jimmy played softball for many years and followed his favorite sports teams.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Casteel; two brothers, Donavan (Don) Edward Casteel and Daniel Sherriel Casteel; a nephew, James Daniel Casteel; a niece, Annette Lynn Casteel; and his brother-in-law, Charles Allen Horn.

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Roxa Casteel of Newcastle; one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Felicia Casteel of Olney; one daughter, Jennifer Casteel Johnson of Olney; one brother, Ronny Casteel of Newcastle; three sisters, Ginger Horn of Graham, Darla Fikes and husband Steve of Olney, Carla Casteel Terrell of Newcastle; sister-in-law, Deb Casteel of Graham; six grandchildren, Kaylee Gonzales, Morgan Casteel, Braelyn Casteel, Kaden Johnson, Mason Johnson, Kamryn Johnson all of Olney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
