Margaret "Janeta" Lee, age 90, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. Memorial services will be announced and held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Janeta was born on June 18, 1934, in Olney, Texas to the late William Edward and Margaret Canada Wainscott. Janeta was an avid sports fan. Growing up she played every sport she could, often saying that she would have played football if they would have let her.
After graduating from Olney High School in 1952, she attended North Texas State College in Denton, Texas where she played basketball. Janeta married Martin Lee on November 13, 1957, in her parent's living room in Olney, Texas. They were married for sixty-seven years. She was a secretary for OPEX and then for Lee's Repair in Olney. She was very active and supportive of the local Boy Scout Troop 584 and served as a Girl Scout leader. She and Martin went on numerous campouts, canoe trips, and traveled around the country with both the scouts and close friends. Janeta was an outdoor enthusiast who had a passion for guns and knives. She had a variety of things she enjoyed from attending livestock shows, horse shows, rodeos, farming and, waterskiing. In the summertime, Martin and Janeta took loads of kids waterskiing nearly every weekend. Janeta enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending as many of their activities as she could. In the past few years, Janeta could hardly be found watching anything except the cowboy channel, or a sporting event, especially football or basketball.

She is survived by her husband Martin Lee of Olney, Texas, her two sons and one daughter-in-law: Scotty and Phyllis Lee of Olney, Texas and Michael Lee of Olney, Texas; three grandchildren: Miranda Lee, of Olney, Texas, John "JT" Lee of Jacksboro, Texas, and Samuel Lee of Wichita Falls, Texas; and one great-grandchild, McKenna Lee of Olney, Texas.

Janeta was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Wayne Wainscott, and her sister Mary Arlene Huffman.
