Jay L. Stewart, age 78, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Olney with Chad Edgington, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Jay was born June 11, 1937 in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late Leon Eugene Stewart and Lindy Pearl (Paschall) Stewart. He married Joan Gryder on May 10, 1963 in Ft. Worth and they moved to Olney in 1977. He was a member and Past President of the Olney Country Club and was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Wichita Falls. Jay was the Treasurer for Tower Extrusions, Ltd. for twenty six years until his retirement. He had also been the President of the Ft. Worth Optimist Club, President of Business Services Automated, Accountant of Hertel General Tire in Ft. Worth, Controller of Coachmen Recreational Vehicles, and Operational Manager of Ranch Style Beans. He married Janie Vansickle on January 16, 2010 in Wichita Falls. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joy Tunstill, and is first wife, Joan Stewart on August 18, 2008.

Jay is survived by his wife, Janie Stewart of Olney, Texas; one son, Chris Stewart and wife Kimberly of Burkburnett, Texas; one daughter, Candace Hayes and husband Brandon of Frisco, Texas; one step-son, Michael McAnally of Grand Prairie, Texas; one step-daughter, Michele Kirkwood of North Richland Hills, Texas; five grandchildren: Lillian Klaire Hayes, Jayden Fox Hayes, Christina Millay, Danielle Cessna, Elizabeth Boner and husband Kevin; two step-grandchildren: Kegan Kirkwood and Kaden Kirkwood; five great-grandchildren: Miles Cessna, Sophia Boner, Kason Boner, Donavan Boner, Kinsley Boner.

Family visitation will be on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
