Jerita Damron, age 83, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at Olney Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, with Dr. Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church of Olney, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Jerita was born on August 20, 1941, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late Jessie and Opal (Huddleston) Lough. She married Jerry Damron in Graham, Texas, in February of 1960 and spent nearly sixty years together before he preceded her in death in December of 2019. Jerita worked in the dietary department at Hamilton Hospital and retired as a dietary manager after many years of service. She enjoyed working in her garden and camping with her husband before his passing. She was partial to her time spent catching up on her soap operas. Jerita loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry Damron, her great-grandson Jacob Blassingame, her two sisters Patricia Ferguson and Opal Pauline Lough, and her brother Jimmie Lough.

Jerita is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie Craver and husband Jerry of Marshall, Texas, and Janice Stanley and husband Charles of Olney, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Regina Sue Damron of Olney, Texas; her grandchildren Crystal Damron and husband Sam Hinojosa, Jeff Damron and wife Crystal, Jamie Suarez and husband Tony, Justin Blassingame, Brad Blassingame and wife Kristen, Matthew Stanley, and Meagan McIntosh and husband Bartley; her sixteen great-grandchildren, one brother David Lough of Olney, Texas, two sisters: Fay York of Grandbury, Texas and Mary Brock of Perrin, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
