Jerry E. Ming, age 70, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Olney. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle, Texas, with Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Jerry was born on October 19, 1943 in Vernon, Texas to the late Edward and Charlene Jordan (Dillard) Ming. He served in the United States Army for three years during the Viet Nam War. He married Juda Virginia Clay on July 27, 1980 in Vernon, Texas. They moved to Olney in 1980 from Vernon. He was a farmer and had worked as a foreman at Tower Extrusions for 18 ½ years. Jerry was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the American Legion Gray Bar Post #414 in Olney. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janice Herring.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Juda Ming of Olney; one son, Anthony Lee Ming and wife Melissa of Olney; one granddaughter, Schelbi Ming of Olney; one sister, Kathy Johns and husband Pete of Pass Christian, Mississippi; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
