Jimmy Van Winkle, age 80, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Texhoma Christian Care Center in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas with Scotte Clark, of Olney, officiating. Interment will follow at the Cottonwood Cemetery in Bryson, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Jimmy was born on May 4, 1934 in Petrolia, Texas to the late Loyd and Etoile (Wells) Van Winkle. He served in the United States Army for two years. He moved to Olney in 1978 from Petrolia. Jimmy was a farmer and a truck driver and a member of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ. He married Ethelda "Sam" Bryson on August 6, 1976 in Waurika, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on August 25, 2011. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Laurie Lewis.

Jimmy is survived by two sons: Randal Loyd Van Winkle of Wichita Falls and Joe Michael Van Winkle of Iowa Park; two daughters: Lindy Bruton and husband Aaron of Olney and Sandra McAninch and husband Greg of Wichita Falls; one sister, Gloria McCratic and husband James of Bullard; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
