Joaquina Lynn Kirk, resident of Granbury, TX, born January 23rd, 1941
in Shattuck, OK to Willard and Pauline Schultz, passed away peacefully
on December 2nd, 2011. Services will be at 11 am on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the
Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney. Burial will be at Newcastle Cemetery in
Newcastle, Texas. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of
Olney.
She is survived by her beloved spouse Melvin Lee Kirk of 47 years
devoted daughters: Twyla Tibbertsma, spouse Ritske, and sons Ritske Jr.
and Cees Kristina Wood and son Devin, Betsy Pokluda, spouse Bryan and
children Brian and Brooke loving brother Donavon Schultz and wife Mary, and
niece Dori brother inlaw Donald Kirk, cherished nephews Charles
Blankenship, Gene, Stephen Michael Kirk numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willard Pauline, second
daughter Kimberly Fleck, nephews: Jay Schultz, Dennis Blankenship, and
son inlaw Mike Wood.
Mel and Jo enjoyed raising show pigeons, fishing, and family camping
trips. Joaquina also relished in the shopping expeditions she and her
daughters enjoyed to the fullest and absolutely loved antique and
garage sale shopping and selling.
Throughout Mel39s work in the oilfield and their ownership of the
Horizon Lure Tackle Company the family lived in Texas, Oklahoma,
Louisiana, Michigan, Arizona, and England. Moving was always an
adventure for the family Joaquina touched the lives of many people with
smile, wit, and generousity Friends and family are invited to attend the
visitation and service.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 56 pm at the funeral
home at 300 S. Avenue M, Olney, Texas.
