John D Croker, age 79, passed away on Thursday August 6, 2026, at Hospice of Wichita Falls. Visitation will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026, from 6:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday August 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Scotte Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery.
John was born on February 24, 1947, in San Francisco, California to the late Harrell Coffer and B.J. Pautsky and grew up in Corpus Christie and Olney, TX. In 1966, at age nineteen he joined the Navy serving 4 years with an honorable discharge.
A jeweler and jewelry designer for most of his working life, he owned and operated John’s Jewelers in Olney and worked for Holders Jewelers in Wichita Falls until retirement in 2019. He was a sales representative for Downey Designs International, and AFLAC Insurance as well as worked for Oakridge Energy Inc. John had several hobbies including a love of golf, hunting, fly fishing, designing jewelry and writing poetry.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harrell Coffer, his mother and stepfather B.J. Pautsky and Noel Pautsky, his stepson, Justin Roach, his mother-in-law, Frances Kunkel, his father-in-law Leo Kunkel, his sister-in-law Paula Kunkle, and his nephew Kevin Schrank.
John is survived by his wife Janet (Kunkel) Roach Croker of Lakeside City, Texas; his daughter Kure Croker of New Orleans; his son, Trent Croker and wife Heather of Haslet, Texas and son Taylor Roach and wife Lauren of Wichita Falls, Texas; his brother Danny Croker and wife Alisha, of Wichita Falls, Texas; his uncle Mitchell Patrick and wife Glenda of Benbrook Texas; his brother in law Harold Kunkel of Breckenridge, Texas; and his sister-in-law Shirley Schrank and her husband Marvin.
