John Jay (J. J.) Wainwright, age 79, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas with Reverend Harrell Braddock, Jr., pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

J. J. was born on November 13, 1940 in Olney, Texas to the late Carl and Willie Ida Wainwright. He graduated from Olney High School and attended Tarrant County Junior College. After working in the Houston area, he moved back to Olney in 1975 and was in partnership with L. F. Perry, L. L. (Cotton) Wainwright, and Don Wainwright at Cemco, Inc. for several years. He enjoyed golf, blackjack, coin collecting, muscle cars, friends, and family gatherings. Independent until his passing, he lived on his own terms and always maintained a positive outlook on life. Brother, uncle, friend.

J. J. was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Richard and Cotton, sisters Billie Ann and Doris. Survivors include brother Don Wainwright, sisters Bette Biter and Carla Perry, and numerous nieces and nephews.
