John Earl Shepard, Jr. age 59 of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on June 20, 2024, at Medical City, in Arlington, Texas. Family visitation will be held Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 24, 2024, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Rick Edwards officiating.  Interment will follow in Newcastle Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

John Earl Shepard, Jr. was born in Oceanside, California on March 18, 1965, to John Earl and Sallie Lee (Thompson) Shepard, Sr. John was a graduate of Newcastle High School in 1983 and continued his education at the DeVry Institute. He graduated with an Associate Degree in electronics and computers in 1990. John worked for Office Depot for twenty years as a Senior Support Specialist, North American Retail Support and Deployment. He loved his job and was a dedicated worker. He moved to Fort Worth in August of 2023 from Boynton Beach, Florida.

John is preceded in death by his father, John Earl Shepard, Sr., his brother Kendall Bryan Shepard, his grandmother, Beulah Thompson, his uncle, Glen Thompson, and his aunt, Nelda Childers.

He is survived by his mother and step-father: Sallie and Robert C. (Bud) Morris, of Wichita Falls, Texas;  his sister: Virginia Shepard, of Wichita Falls, Texas; one aunt: Melba Quaid, of Newcastle, Texas; four nephews: Trey Edwards, Colbey Edwards, Kreid Edwards, and Camdyn Edwards; three nieces: Kuttar Reace Edwards; Sawyer Kate Edwards, and Rio Conley Edwards; and numerous cousins.
