Jose S. Garza, age 82 of Olney, died on Thursday, November 28, 2019 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Lunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2019 in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Father Eugene Nyong, officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Jose was born on September 18, 1937 in Alice, Texas, to the late Melecio Garza and Clemencia Salinas Garza. He married Florence Stober in 1977 in Flint Michigan. He was a factory worker until his retirement. Jose enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines. He also enjoyed attending classic car shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a step-son, Jimmy Hart; three brothers, Reymundo Garza, Sr., Pablo Garza, Jesus Garza; and a sister, Linda Garza.

Jose is survived by five step-sons: Mike Hart of Lakeview, Michigan, Troy Hart of Anchorage, Alaska, Gordon Hart of Coral, Michigan, Shawn Hart of Stanton, Michigan, Tony Hart of Lakeview, Michigan; one step-daughter, Kerrie Hart Gibson of Belding, Michigan; one sister, Janie Perez of Olney; nephews: Tommy Perez of Wichita Falls and Randy Garza, Sr. of Wichita Falls; nieces: Dalia Willingham of Olney, Lydia G. Greenway of Olney and Irma Garza of Olney; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
