Jovito F. Pura, age 86, died Saturday, January 2, 2016 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Father John Pacheco of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Olney, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Jovito was born on May 11, 1929 in the Philippines to the late Simon and Sanvacion (Fulay) Pura. He was a draftsman by trade. He married Luz R. Rogando on November 28, 1959 in the Philippines. He moved to Olney in 2005 from Brooklyn, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters: Pilar Pura, Florencia Acuna, Rosa Paco, Mary Cerio, and one brother, Salvador Pura.

Survivors include his wife, Luz Pura of Olney, Texas; four daughters: Joy Gatti of Roseland, New Jersey, Gemma Reaso of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Luzvita Restrepo of Union, New Jersey, Josielinda Pura of Olney, Texas; five sons: Alfonso Ereve of the Philippines, Jubal Pura of Olney, Texas, Jovito Jeffrey Pura of the Philippines, Jonathan Pura of Hawaii, Jerome Pura of Wilmington, Delaware; twenty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
