Joy Morgan, age 74 of Newcastle, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at her home. No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Joy was born on January 6, 1947 in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late W.F. "Punk" Jones and Odessa Louise (Brogdon) Jones. She was a lifetime resident of Newcastle. She married Donny Morgan on October 27, 1983 in Newcastle. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2017. Joy had worked for Air Tractor in the fabrication department for 34 years until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and loved working with her plants. She always kept her house organized and clean, and had recently begun to remodel her kitchen by herself.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Kerry Phillips, a daughter, Annette Lynn Casteel Phillips, a step-son, Donald Lee Morgan, and a daughter-in-law, Amy Jeanette Phillips.

Survivors include one son, T.J. Phillips of Newcastle; three daughters, Donna Kay Casteel of Raleigh, North Carolina, Denishia Morgan of Crosbyton and Delisea Carter of Frisco; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn Rinard and husband Robert of Olney; step-brother, Jackie Rinard of Big Spring; twelve grandchildren, Brent Casteel of Newcastle, Cole Phillips of Newcastle, Hannah Morgan Candace Tucker of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Eddie Lee of Electra, Ian Bailey of Olney, Alex Hardy of Raleigh, North Carolina, Magen Maxwell of Graham, Blake Maxwell of Newcastle, Wyatt Carter of Frisco, Chelsea Carter of Graham, Shelby Coppersmith of Grand Prairie and Kristen Coppersmith of Wichita Falls; fifteen great-grandchildren, and her Chihuahua, Bailey.
