Karen Sue
Ham
February 19, 1947 – February 18, 2025
Karen Ham, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted servant of the Lord, passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 77. A celebration of Karen's life will be held on February 22, 2025, at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. There will be a viewing at 10 am followed by the celebration of life service at 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to honor her and the many blessings she brought to this world. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
She was born on February 19, 1947, in Woodward, Oklahoma. Karen was the daughter of Newman and Fern Walton and had one sister, Debbie Miller. Karen graduated from Woodward High School where she met the love of her life, Richard. Karen and Richard were married on September 3, 1966, and later moved to Vernon, Texas where they raised their four children. Karen devoted her life to her family. A proud mother who worked outside the home around her children's school and activities so that the family would have the money to take vacations. Karen loved going on trips and spending time experiencing different places with the people she loved.
In 1992, Karen and Richard moved to Cleburne to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They were devoted members of the Westhill Church of Christ. In 1999, they relocated to Arlington to be even closer to their children and grandchildren. In Arlington, Karen and Richard attended the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ where they worked together serving snacks at VBS, planning, decorating, and attending 49'er events, serving on mission trips, participating in small groups and volunteering wherever they could be helpful.
Karen was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who made it a point to spend time with all of her family. She was always in the middle of any games going on when the family was around. She planned trips with her children and later in life "grandchildren only" trips to spend time and share her love with her family. She attended as many athletic events, dance recitals, band performances and theater productions as she could fit in to support her children and grandchildren.
Karen was an example of God's love in the world. She had a heart for serving and taking care of others, especially with cooking and serving meals to bring people together and also for people in need. She was a humble servant doing many things behind the scenes to make sure that others were taken care of, regularly putting others before herself.
Karen is survived by her beloved children: Kim Hunt (John), Shawn Ham (Debra), Angie Moore (Jason), and Chad Ham (Heather). She was a proud grandmother to Austin Hunt (Kennedy), Brett Hunt (Kylie), Cara Corbin (Blake), Daphne Hunt, Clayton Ham (Laura), Carson Ham, Olivia Ham, Megan Lamb (Alex), Macy Hager (Michael), Ashley Ham, and Maddie Ham. She leaves behind five cherished great-grandchildren: Rauiri Dean, Ivynn Dean, Landry Corbin, Beau Corbin, and Eloise Hunt. Karen also leaves behind her sister Debbie Miller and her 3 nieces and their families, along with many cherished friends from Vernon, Cleburne, and Arlington.
