Karen Sheets McCulloch, age 83 of Richardson, Texas, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Garland, Texas. A private burial was held at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Karen was born on June 27, 1938, in El Reno, Oklahoma to the late Claude Ray Sheets and Verda (Bloodworth) Sheets. She moved to Olney in 1946 and graduated from Olney High School. She graduated from the George B. Hamilton School of Vocational Nursing and later moved to Dallas where she received her Registered Nurse certification. Karen worked several years at Presbyterian Hospital and later worked at Parkland Hospital as the charge nurse of the emergency room. She was working in the E.R. on the day President John F. Kennedy was shot.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Neda Kay Jones, and her brother, Gary B. Sheets.

Survivors include two nieces, Kim Reginald and Sonja Funakura; and two nephews, Gary Don Sheets and Mike Jones.
