Kay Francis McCarson, age 84, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Olney Hamilton Hospital. Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, with Russell McCarson, pastor of Parkway Church in Victoria, Texas, officiating, he will be assisted by Frankie Bailey. Interment will follow at Elbert Cemetery in Elbert, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Kay was born on June 5, 1940, in Olney, Texas, to the late William Russell and Cora (Kirksey) Parks. She married Jim McCarson on May 31, 1958, in Olney, Texas, and they were married for sixty-six years. She was a lifetime resident of Olney and was involved in the community, including being a den leader for the Cub Scouts and teaching Sunday School at Southside Baptist Church. Kay loved to read her bible and would write notes in the margins. She enjoyed spending as much time as she was able with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Brad McCarson, two brothers, one sister, one brother-in-law, and one sister-in-law.

Kay is survived by her husband, Jim McCarson, of Elbert, Texas, her son and two daughters-in-law, Trent and Debbie McCarson of Proffitt, Texas, and Charlotte McCarson of Elbert, Texas, her sister-in-law Rosala Parks of Olney, Texas, five grandchildren; Mandy Montgomery and husband Steven, Amy Berkey, Bryan McCarson and wife Jodey, Morgan McCarson, and Russell McCarson and wife Ashley, and eight great-grandchildren.
