Kay Strealy, age 70, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Olney, Texas with Chad Edgington, pastor, officiating.  Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Kay was born October 30, 1951, in Olney, Texas to the late Arlon Clayton Crosthwait and Doris Virginia (Pitt) Crosthwait. She was a graduate of Olney High School class of 1970 and received her BA and teaching certificate from Texas Tech University in 1973. She taught school in Lubbock and Olney until her retirement. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim Strealy, on June 26, 1971 in Olney, and they spent 50 wonderful years together. Kay was a lifetime resident of Olney and a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the sanctuary choir for many years. She also loved to play the piano. Kay loved her dogs, and she loved being with her family and going to the lake to enjoy water sports.

Kay is survived by her husband, Jim Strealy of Olney; two sons and one daughter, Clay and wife Kimberly Strealy of Holliday, Texas, Blake Strealy of Pearland, Texas and Kara and husband Ben Gaertner of Sumter, South Carolina; seven grandchildren: Tucker Strealy, Hayden Strealy and Aubrea Strealy all of Holliday, Texas, Nathan Gaertner, Katherine Gaertner, Kaytie Gaertner and Ethan Gaertner all of Sumter, South Carolina; one sister and brother-in-law, Aurlie and Tommy Strealy of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Jeanie Crosthwait of Lubbock, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
