Kittie Wren Curnutte, age 57, passed away on August 21, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, from 6:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 9:00 am in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

She was born on July 29, 1969, in Saint Jo, Texas, to Curtis and Carlyon Curnutte.

Kittie was known for her generosity, kindness, and incredibly soft heart—and, just like her fiery hair, she had a fiery temper to match. Those who knew her knew exactly who Kittie was: loving, strong-willed, funny, and fiercely protective of the people she loved. To her friends, she was simply known as a “sweetheart.”

Kittie spent many years working as a CNA and was known around town as one of the very best. Caring for others came naturally to her. Her nurturing spirit wasn’t something she left at work at the end of the day; it was simply part of who she was. She loved deeply, gave generously, and had a way of taking care of the people around her.

Kittie’s caring nature extended beyond her work as a CNA. She lovingly sat with and cared for her Aunt Jimmie Wilson, affectionately known as “Auntie,” on a daily basis. Kittie cherished their time together and enjoyed the many conversations they shared.

Although Kittie was unable to have children of her own, she never lacked a family to pour that motherly love into. She loved and treated her nieces, nephew, and great-nieces as if they were her very own. They were a tremendous part of her life and held a special place in her heart.

Kittie was also a lifelong dog lover. Throughout her adult life, she was blessed to have Boston Terriers who were truly her four-legged children, with Gracie holding an especially special place as her pride and joy.

Anyone who knew Kittie also knew she was a night owl. She could stay up into the early morning hours, always ready for another conversation, another story, or simply more time spent with the people she loved.

Kittie is survived by her brother, Wayne Curnutte; her nieces, Breanna Curnutte and husband Ian Bailey, and Lauren Curnutte; her nephew, Tyler Curnutte; her great-nieces, Rilynn, Willow, and Carter Bailey; her beloved Aunt Jimmie Wilson, affectionately known as “Auntie”; and countless other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Carlyon Curnutte, and her great-niece, Avery Green.
