Lahonda Keeter, age 85, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, in Graham, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Keeter Cemetery in Elbert, Texas, with Marty Light, pastor of Elbert Baptist Church, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Lahonda was born on September 14, 1937, in Westover, Texas to the late James Perry McWhorter and Mary Martha (Key) McWhorter.  She was a lifetime resident of Baylor, Throckmorton and Young counties.  She married Wayne Keeter on January 24, 1954, in Megargel, Texas. She co-managed the Keeter Ranch with her husband and thoroughly enjoyed the ranching business and all it entailed. Lahonda especially loved raising and racing thoroughbred horses and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lahonda was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bobby McWhorter and two sisters: Sherry Kellar and Sonnie Barker.

Lahonda is survived her husband, Wayne Keeter of Elbert, Texas; two sons: Jim Keeter and wife Chris of Rhome, Texas and Jerry Keeter of Olney, Texas; one daughter, Katherine Keeter; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
