Wilma LaVelle Davis, age 92, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Visitation will be on January 10, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Olney, with Dr. Chad Edgington officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
LaVelle was born to T.M. and Amie Mills on May 19, 1933. She married the love of her life, Wayne Davis, on April 10, 1954. In high school, LaVelle was captain of her volleyball team, voted best all-around girl, and graduated salutatorian of her class. LaVelle was Sr Vice President, head of mortgage lending for Olney Savings. LaVelle was a member of First Baptist Church, Olney, for many years and served on numerous committees, as well as teaching a women’s Sunday school class. While she took great pride in these accomplishments, her greatest accomplishment was being a wife, mother, and grandmother (Lana). She loved her home, gardening, and cooking for her family. She made the best hamburgers, mustard chicken, chicken-fried steak, and pies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, T.M. and Amie Mills. Her sister, Wanda Jean Clifton. Her husband, Wayne Davis, and her beloved son, Daryl Davis.
LaVelle is survived by her daughter, Darla Milhollon, and husband Rick, of Scotland, Texas. Her granddaughters, Amie Conrady and husband, Jesse, of Windthorst, Texas, and Sydney Davis of Fort Worth, Texas; one great-grandson, Cohen Conrady of Windthorst, Texas; one brother-in-law, Mac Davis of Midland, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
