Lewis Shelley, age 84, passed away on May 9, 2012, in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Andy Graham of Southside Baptist officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Lewis was born on November 20, 1927 to William Auther and Annie Rebecca Wallace Shelley in Hill County, Texas. He and Lola Doherty were married on August 16, 1947 in Whitney, Texas. In 1961, Lewis opened, owned, and operated an Auto Retail Tire store. Lewis loved to play golf and go fishing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olney. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on October 22, 2010, two brothers: Milton Simmons and William Keith Shelley three sisters: Mae Russo, Viola Booth, and Sarah Pelham.

Survivors include two sons: John Shelley and wife Kimla of Weatherford, Texas, Ron Shelley and wife Debbie of Olney, Texas five grandchildren: Matt Shelley and wife Rebecca of Gallup, New Mexico, Mike Shelley and wife Katie of Sherman, Texas, Mark Shelley of Denver, Colorado, Madison Shelley of Weatherford, Texas, and Sam Shelley of Olney, Texas two great grandchildren: Gus Shelley and Hazel Shelley also a brother, Charlie Shelley and wife Doris of Hillsboro, Texas.
