Lloyd "Bodie" Lipps, 81, died on Saturday, May 25, 2013 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas with Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Lloyd was born on October 17, 1931, in Phillips, Texas, to the late C.L. and Mary (Beard) Lipps. Lloyd married LaQuita Warren on May 18, 1955, in Borger, Texas. She preceded him in death on July 18, 2010. He was an Airman Second Class in the United States Air Force where he served in the Korean War. Lloyd worked as a field supervisor for Dowell for thirty-two years. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, the American Legion of Olney, Elks Lodge of Borger, and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars of Borger. He became a resident of Olney, Texas in1994 after moving from Borger, Texas. He is preceded in death by one son, Carlton "Bubba" Lipps on April 19, 2007; three brothers, Stanley Lipps, DeWayne Lipps, and Clarence Lipps.
Lloyd is survived by three daughters, Sandy Duncan and husband, Jim, of Houston, Texas, Alicia Chambers and husband, Jay, of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Juanisha Heidelberg of Olney, Texas; one brother, Tommy Lipps and wife, Mickey, of Independence, Missouri; three grandchildren, Lloyd Sharp and wife, Ashley, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, Stuart Duncan of Houston, Texas, and J. R. Duncan of Amarillo, Texas; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
