Loretta Thompson, age 74, passed away February 21, 2015 at Olney Healthcare in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Bill Wadley, pastor of Olney Family Worship Center, officiating. Burial will be at Elbert Cemetery in Elbert, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Loretta was born on December 6, 1940 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to the late Elijah Cathey R. Goodman and Maggie Myrtle (Brown) Goodman. She married Troy Thompson on May 2, 1982 in Olney and moved to Elbert in 1983 from Olney. She was a homemaker and a help-mate to her husband Troy as they farmed in Elbert. She was a member of the Olney Family Worship Center in Olney. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Virginia Moody; three sisters: Edna, Frances, and Dorothy Faye; four brothers: Bobby, Lee, C.G., and Thomas; and step-son, Bobby Moody.
Loretta is survived by her husband Troy Thompson of Elbert; four step-sons: Billy Wayne Thompson, Danny Ray Thompson and Tony Otis Thompson all of Olney, Rual Moody of Levelland; seven step-daughters: Anita Hendrix of Olney, Ann Aaron of Fairfield, Jo Ann Mills of Wickett, Carolyn Parton of Big Spring, Cathy Vogel and Suzy Light both of Rankin, Kay Cox of Coahoma; three grandchildren: Lesli Adams of Waco, Jeremy Adams of Indiana, Zachary Adams of Throckmorton; one great-grandchild, Kaydence Adams of Indiana; and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
