Louise Britt, age 94, passed away September 13, 2015 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Floyd Stevenson, officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.

Louise was born on January 29, 1921 in Cedar Grove, Texas to the late John and Mamie (Johnson) Lyons. She married Ben Britt on September 28, 1938 in Van Zandt County, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1994. Louise moved to Olney in 1956 from near Seymour and was a faithful member of Rising Star Baptist Church. She was famous for her barbecue and cobbler which she made with her husband at Ben & Louise's B-B-Q west of Olney from 1957 until her retirement in 1994. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers: Author Lyons, J.T. Lyons, Curtis Lyons and Jesse Lyons; and three sisters: Nit Rogers, Betty Jennings and Geneva Hunt.

Louise is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
