Lyndell Livingston McCarty

Lyndell McCarty, age 98, of Midland, Texas, died Monday, September 21, 2015. She was born December 1, 1916 in Enders, Arkansas to Benjamin Moore and Sally (Shaw) Livingston. She attended school in Westover, Texas. She married J. V. McCarty on June 13, 1937 in Archer City, Texas. They lived in Archer County, Texas where they were blessed with a son and a daughter. They lived in Valley View, Texas for eleven years, and moved to Wichita Falls, Texas in 1957. She was the owner operator of Lynn's Beauty Shop in Wichita Falls for twenty-three years. Upon the death of her husband in June 1999, Lyndell then moved to Midland, Texas to be near her daughter and family.

Lyndell was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son, James Wayne McCarty, and three brothers: Dennis Livingston, Doyne "Lanky" Livingston and F. L. "Red" Livingston.

She is survived by one brother, O.G. "Shorty" Livingston of Olney, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Carla and T.J. (Joe) Fisher of Midland, Texas; four grandchildren: Kimberly Wells of Wichita Falls, Texas, Tami Meissner and husband Michael of Iowa Park, Texas, Gavin McCarty and wife Deborah of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Jason Fisher of Midland, Texas; nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. The family expresses deep appreciation for the care given by Cecil, Sharon, Emily, Maria, Elena, and all the hall 4 and company staff at Parks Care Center in Odessa, Texas.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church in Olney, officiating. Burial will follow at the Megargel Cemetery in Megargel, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
