Mae Scobee Goodloe, age 85, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church of Olney with Gary Torian officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Mae was born December 4, 1925 in Gotebo, Oklahoma to the late S.W Spalding Ward and Alice Pearl Moore Suitor. She and O.B. Scobee were married on December 24, 1950 in Newcastle, Texas. They moved to Olney from Newcastle that same year. They had been married for almost twenty years when he passed away on January 5, 1970. In May 1976 she met and married Robert Earl Goodloe in Olney, Texas. He passed away on September 13, 2001. Mae had worked as an administrative assistant in a nursing home for many years. She was valedictorian of the Class of 1944 of Newcastle High School in Newcastle, and a member of the quotTacky Quiltersquot at First United Methodist Church in Olney. Mae was deeply devoted to her family. She attended all of her children39s, grandchildren39s, and great grandchildren39s activities faithfully. She was preceded in death by two brothers Troy Suitor and Pat Suitor three sisters Eula Hammons, Mildred Gray, and Virgie Connell.
Survivors include two sons Mike Scobee and wife Jody of Runaway Bay, Texas, Ted Scobee and wife Judy of Olney, Texas one daughter Janis Kilpatrick and fiancee39 Gary Boehme of College Station, Texas one stepson David Goodloe and wife Sonja of Cleburne Texas one stepdaughter Nancy Goodloe and partner Melody Madlem of Ellensburg, Washington seven grandsons Dustin Scobee, Casey Scobee and wife Ashley, Brent Kilpatrick and wife Rebecca, Brad Kilpatrick, Jared Scobee and fianceacutee Ashley Calame, Mark Goodloe, Steven Goodloe and wife Bliss and eleven great grandchildren: Julia, Corbyn, Davis, Maddie, Cryslyn, Cayden, Canyon, Canton, Baylee, Tyler, and Nate.
Visitation will be Friday evening, June 17, 2011 from 6 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
