Doris Marian Craig peacefully passed from this life August 21, 2013 with Robert Dees Craig, her husband of 61 years, at her side.

Marian was born in Mineral Wells, Texas October 7, 1930. After leaving Mineral Wells as Valedictorian of the 1948 graduating class, she attended Baylor University in Waco where she, in the front row of Spanish class, caught Bob's eye, from the back row, in 1949. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and graduated with a degree in History of English Literature in 1952. Marian and Bob were married in Mineral Wells in March 8, 1952 and settled in Olney, Texas where she would spend her life. She pursued post-graduate studies at Texas Woman's University and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Olney. Marian taught Spanish and English at Newcastle and Olney High Schools for 12 years. Thereafter she pursued her many artistic, musical, and scholarly passions.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Carl Lewallen. She is survived by her husband, Bob Craig; elder son, Alan Craig; grandchildren Daphne Jones and husband Michael, Jason Craig and wife Summer, and Kristin Craig; great-grandchildren Tyler Jones and Zachery Jones; younger son, Carl Craig and wife Karen; and grandchildren Caitlin Craig, Catherine Craig and Claire Craig.

A funeral service is to be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Friday, the 23rd of August at the First United Methodist Church of Olney, Texas where Harrell Braddock, Jr. is to officiate. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Family visitation will be on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family kindly suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Olney Family Clinic & Rehab / Wellness Center or Olney Hamilton Hospital Foundation.
