Marilyn Watson, age 92, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Grace Care Center in Olney, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Elbert Cemetery in Elbert, Texas, with Rev. David Carpenter, pastor of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Marilyn was born on July 11, 1931, in Los Angeles, California to the late Romie Leo Miller and Maggie Emma (Rodgers) Miller. She married Oliver Watson on May 29, 1946, in Montague County. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2019. She moved to Olney in 1979 from McKinleyville, California. Marilyn served as an Elder at Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a very active member, even preaching on occasion when needed. She was a substitute teacher and was a nurse for Dr. Meredith. Marilyn also loved to do crafts and sew.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers: Buddy Miller, Clovis Miller and Howard Miller; one sister, Nancy Pickens; and a granddaughter, Carri Ickert.

Marilyn is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Teodora Watson of San Diego, California; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Baxter of Olney, Texas, Cindy and Chris Tinker of Chico, California and Vicky and Gayle Bullock of Poolville, Texas; one brother, Ray Miller; a half-brother, Kenneth Magee; as well as eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
