Obituary

Marjorie June Botkin, 98 years young, passed into her heavenly home on Monday, October 17, 2022. Margie was living in Lewisville, Texas, with her daughter Melinda, when she passed from this life to a new life with no pain or anguish...only peace and joy. She will be missed...

She was born to Alice Walker Stephens and Grady Terrell Stephens on March 20, 1924, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from Olney High School in 1941. She went to work for the First National Bank where she met Horace Botkin and they were married on July 26, 1946. She also worked for Bob Myers Insurance Agency but later returned to the First National Bank in the 1980's to balance the Bank's checkbook. She attended Hamilton Street Church of Christ for more than seventy years and made many friends and acquaintances over that time. She will be missed...

In retirement, she traveled all over the USA and abroad; her travels took her to Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, South Korea, and Japan. In spite of all her travels, Olney was still her home. She followed the local football and basketball teams for many years both at home and on the road. She was a die hard fan of the Cowboys, Mavericks, and Rangers. She loved lemon chess and egg custard pie and made the absolute best cinnamon rolls on the planet from her mother's recipe. She lived in the same house for 65 years. A strong woman, having lost Horace in September of 1981, Margie led her life always looking forward and being there when she was needed, by her family and her friends. She will be missed...

Margie is survived by two brothers, Grady Stephens Jr. of Broken Arrow, OK and Jerry Stephens (June Stephens) of North Richland Hills, TX; two daughters, Cindy Sullivan (Tim Sullivan) of Duncanville, TX and Melinda Woodson (Roy Woodson) of Lewisville, TX; a son H. Allen Botkin (Amy Botkin) of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Kelley Beck (Brian Beck) of McKinney, TX, Kacey Fickes (Corey Fickes) of Fort Worth, Texas, Quintan Cockerell of Palos Verde, CA and Mckinsey Cavuoti (Whit Cavuoti) of Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; James Beck, Dylan Beck, Evie Fickes, Jack Fickes, Vivian Cockerell, Emma Cavuoti and Hollis Cavuoti. She will be missed...

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Botkin, parents Alice and Grady Stephens Sr, five sisters, Eva Garrett, Jean Tighe, Maxine Martin, Barbara Stephens, Joyce Stephens, and one brother, Brandon Stephens.
