Mark West, age 50, of Olney, Texas died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Hospice in Wichita Falls, Texas. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Olney with Kelly Russell officiating assisted by Mark Kunkel of Oscar, Oklahoma. Burial will be at the Loving cemetery in Loving, Texas. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Mark was born November 20, 1960 in Olney, Texas to Kenneth Lee West and Janice Carol Freeze Rich. He was a lifetime resident of the Olney area and was selfemployed in the oil industry. Mark was an avid water and snow skier and was well known for the ability to quotbarefootquot water ski. Mark mentored many young men throughout the years personally and professionallyalways more than happy to share with anyone willing to learn what he himself had learned through the years. Mark will be remembered as a giver. He supported community efforts as well as many individuals when there was a need. Those who knew Mark and remember his late father Kenneth West knew the two shared so many of the same traits that made those who knew them, proud to call their quotfriend.quot Mark will be greatly missed until we are all once again together forever with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternity. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth on July 21, 1972, also his grandparents Earl and Bonnie Loftin Freeze, and great grandparents Hobe and Ora quotCricketquot Simmons Loftin.


Survivors include his mother Janice West Rich and husband Larry of Olney, Texas two sisters Syndal McClatchy and husband Kent of Olney, Texas, Melissa Peterson and husband Todd of San Jose, California a niece, Kaci Creel and husband Dusty of Olney, Texas a nephew, Chase McClatchy of Olney, Texas and great niece Harper Alyn Creel.


Visitation will be Thursday June 16, 2011 from 67 pm at the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home.
