Mary Edwards Wainscott, age 77, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Olney with Rev. Harrell Braddock, Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Mary was born on December 9, 1940 in Bryson, Texas to the late Eugene Edwards and Mary Beatrice (Rice) Edwards. She graduated from Graham High School in 1959 and pursued her life long desire to teach. She received her Bachelor's Degree from TCU in 1962, and then graduated from Midwestern State University with her Master's Degree in Education. Mary taught elementary school in Graham for many years until her retirement, and continued to have a love for reading. She loved to be home, surrounded by her family and friends, laughing and telling stories. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney. She married Wayne Wainscott on June 8, 1990 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Billie Gene Edwards; a sister, Doris Herring; a grandson, Rylyn Meacham; and her husband, Wayne Wainscott.

Mary is survived by three sons: Chad and Beverly Meacham of Rockwall, their children John and Sarah; Dan and Nickie Meacham of Graham, their children Rylyn, Logan and Madisyn; Wes and Raquel Meacham of Mustang, Oklahoma, their daughter Ashley; her children by marriage: Susan and Denis Jeske and family of Olney; Bobby and Carol Wainscott and family of Olney; Melanie Dixon and family of Wichita Falls; one sister, June Wright of Ft. Worth; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Janie Edwards of Dallas; and many nieces and nephews.
