Mattelyn Schwarz, age 94, died July 24, 2015 at Brookdale Sikes Lake Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Wichita Falls, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at True Cemetery near Olney, Texas with Scotte Clark of Olney, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Mattelyn was born on October 19, 1920 in the True Community to the late Edwin and Linnie Ann (Blancett) Jones. She moved to Ft. Worth, Texas and was a civil service secretary at Carswell Air Force Base for forty-two years. Mattelyn later moved to Olney to be near family before living the past few years in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a member of the North Ave. C Church of Christ in Olney. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Jones; and four sisters: Willadean Rice, Floyce Bruton, Blanche Hughes, and Shirley Hughes.
Mattelyn is survived by five nephews: Rex Brewer, Richard Jones, J.D. Bruton, H.L. Hughes, and Delbert Hughes; two nieces: Juanita Faye Jones, and Pam Neal; and her loving family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00~6:30 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the funeral home.
