Maxine Holland, age 84, died June 12, 2014 at Settlers Ridge Care Center in Celina, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Loving Cemetery in Loving, Texas with Cliff Lester, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Celina, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Maxine was born on December 29, 1929 in Loving, Texas to the late Claude Homer and Vena (Huffman) Prater. She was a lifetime resident of Loving and Olney, and had been a clerk for Ben Franklin variety store in Olney. She was a longtime member of the Loving Baptist Church and joined First Baptist Church in Olney in 1982. She married Leroy Holland on October 9, 1952 in Loving. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2005. Maxine was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. She was followed in death by her son, Ronnie Hunt of Sherman, Texas, on the same day as her own death, June 12, 2014.
Maxine is survived by her son: Teddy Hunt of Scotland, Texas ; three daughters: Donna Kunkel and husband Gary of Burleson, Texas, Martha Kunkel of Olney, Texas, and Charlotte Norman and husband Mike of Celina, Texas; daughter-in-law, Tobi Hunt of Sherman, Texas; two sisters: Nadine Holland and husband Bill of Burkburnett, Texas and Jackie Maples of Graham, Texas; one brother Paul Prater and wife Wilma of Breckenridge, Texas; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
