Morell Garrett, age 85, of Irving, Texas, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at Ashford Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas with John Ketchersid, minister of Spirit of Unity, a Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Morell was born on December 14, 1937 in Olney, Texas to the late Roger Aubrey Cockburn and Verble Morell (Tucker) Cockburn. She graduated from Olney High School in 1956. She married Jimmy Norman Garrett on October 15, 1954, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They moved from Olney to Irving in 1967. Morell was a member of Spirit of Unity, a Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, oil painting and crochet. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jody LaDell Christal and her brother-in-law, Jerry Christal.

Morell is survived by her husband, Jimmy Garrett of Irving, Texas; three daughters: Vicki Wilson of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, Janice Garrett and Jimmi Garrett both of Irving, Texas; two granddaughters: Melanie Fletcher of Ft. Worth, Texas and Mandi Myers of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; and three great-grandchildren: Travis Fletcher, Liam Myers and Allie Myers.
