Neil Bowers

Neil Bowers, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Olney Hamilton Hospital. Memorial services will be held on  Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10:30 am at the Hamilton Street Church of Christ. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Neil was born on December 21, 1957, in Tecumseh, Michigan, to the late Warren and LaDonna (Jones) Bowers. He married Donita Schroeder on July 24, 1976, in Cozad, Nebraska, and they spent almost fifty years together before his death. Neil was a retired machinist, but while he was working, he was known as a workaholic. He enjoyed hunting in his free time. Neil loved his family and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with them. He was lovingly called “Granpa Grumpy” by his grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and LaDonna (Jones) Bowers, and his sister Kathy Bowers.

Neil is survived by his wife, Donita Bowers of Olney, Texas, his three sons and two daughters-in-law: Christopher Bowers of Richardson, Texas, Bradly Bowers and wife Sharon of Superior, Nebraska, and Andy Bowers and wife Fallon of Olney, Texas, his two sisters: Karen Payton of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Lynetta White of Omaha, Nebraska, his eight grandchildren: Jasmine, Payton, Kohl, David, Jaylee, Karter, Bradi, and Cashton, and several nieces and nephews.
