Neta F. (Stapp) Lackey, age 88 of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Olney, Texas, died Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Brookdale Senior Living in Georgetown. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Deral McWhorter, officiating, assisted by her grandson, Zane Witcher. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. immediately prior to the service. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Neta was born on February 28, 1933 in Iowa Park, Texas to the late Hugh Clifton Stapp and Liddy Nina (Musgrave) Stapp. She married Junior N. Lackey on January 25, 1952 in Bonham, Texas, and they moved to Olney in 1953. They made Olney their home until 2018 when they moved to be near their daughter Renee. Neta was a wonderful homemaker and helpmate to Junior. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Benny Stapp.

Neta is survived by her husband, Junior N. Lackey of Georgetown; one daughter, Renee Witcher and husband Bert of Georgetown; one son, David Lackey and wife Darlene of Wichita Falls; two grandchildren, Zane Witcher and wife Carolina of Abilene, and Amanda Arroyo and husband Peter of San Antonio; two great-grandchildren, P.J. Arroyo and Pierce Arroyo; and two sisters, Joyce Gregg of Wichita, Kansas and Gaye Moore and husband Stephen of Greenville, Texas.
