Pat Carr, lifelong resident of Young County, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Olney Hamilton Hospital. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Lunn Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 am at Reynolds Cemetery, less than a mile from his childhood home. Pat was born on March 16, 1939, to the late Richard and Ida (Daniel) Carr near Padgett, Texas, in the vicinity of the Rabbit Creek Community. He married Judy Campbell on November 18, 1977, in Wichita Falls, Texas, and they had forty-eight years together before his passing. At the age of 12, his first job was driving a truck for the county. After graduating from Newcastle High School in 1957, Pat was a mechanic and auto body repairman, and for thirty-three years, he ran Carr's Body Shop. He and his wife, Judy, owned and operated Circle K Café for 32 years before retiring. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix just about anything. He had many hobbies including carving and whittling, drawing, arrowhead hunting, knapping arrowheads, four wheeling, making porcelain dolls, and just tinkering in general. One of his favorite hobbies was metal and forge work, making his own pocket knives. In his later years, he took up knitting to keep himself busy before losing his eyesight. He was a collector of many things. Pat loved to cook and play games, and he never "let" anyone win, not even the kids. He will be sorely missed by his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his three brothers: Darwin Carr, Bill Carr, and Dickie Carr; and his daughter, Cynthia Kay (Carr) Teters.

Pat is survived by his wife Judy Carr of Olney, Texas, his three daughters and two sons-in-law: Tressa Trotta & husband Joe of Maryville, Tennessee; Tamara Thomas of Olney, Texas; Kaci McClendon & husband Bill of Olney, Texas, and by his son and daughter-in-law: Cecil Haney & wife Ali of Montgomery, Texas. He was "Pa-Pa" to fifteen grandchildren: Chaston, Chelsey, Jake, Brandon, Stephanie, Taylor, Jamie, Jasmine, Rachel, Brent, Jonathan, Jordyn, Morgan, Brynna, and Kaden. He had sixteen great-grandchildren, as well.

Memorial donations in honor of Pat can be made to Reynolds Cemetery Association, c/o Farmers State Bank, P.O. Box 10, Newcastle, TX 76372, or your favorite Charity.
