Pat "Nanny" Underwood, age 95, died Sunday, January 2, 2022, at her home in Olney, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas with Scotte Clark, minister of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Pat was born on March 21, 1926, in Whitney, Texas to the late Elvin and "Kitty" Florence (Lumpkin) Gatlin. She married J.A. "Jake" Underwood on March 28, 1949, in Saint Jo, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1977. She had been a resident of Olney since the early 1950's and was a Baptist. Pat was a very hard worker. She was a general contractor in the construction business, and she retired on December 31, 2019 at the age of 93. She was very generous and accepted everyone. She always helped anybody that needed help and tried to take care of everybody. She loved her family and friends and always provided meals whenever they visited.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Carlyon Curnutte, four brothers, and three sisters.

Pat is survived by one daughter, Jimmie A. Wilson and husband Jimmy of Olney; three grandsons, Tommy Tubb, Stephen Scott and Wayne Curnutte and wife Faughnda all of Olney; two granddaughters, Laurie Hudson and husband Jimmy and Kittie Curnutte all of Olney; eight great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
