Paula Nell (Elledge) Kunkel, age 73, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas, with Rev. Sean Reeves, pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church, officiating.  Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Paula was born on February 9, 1950, to William Paul Elledge and G. Vernell (Sullivan) Elledge in Ft. Worth, Texas. She graduated from Boswell High School and attended TSU where she met her lifetime love, Harold Kunkel. They married August 2, 1969, in Olney, Texas and soon moved to Breckenridge, Texas. She was a local artist and entrepreneur. Paula owned and operated Paint & Needle for over 30 years.  She retired from her hometown small business but continued to teach art to the young and old of Breckenridge and surrounding counties. She loved people and would strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. She was a very talented artist and was even featured in a local artist magazine. Paula loved her family above all else.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and a brother, Mark Elledge.

Paula is survived by her husband, Harold Kunkel of Breckenridge, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Kandy and Paul Driver of Quitman, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Kasey and April Kunkel of Hamilton, Texas; and five grandchildren: Kolten Kunkel, Kain Kunkel, Kase Kunkel, Dean Driver and Karsen Driver.

She was a blessing to her family and her community. Paula will be missed. This is not goodbye, but see you later sweet Wife, Mother, Mo, Sister and Aunt…we love you.
