Peggy West Lough, age 76, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023, at her home in Olney, Texas.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Mike McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Peggy was born on April 13, 1947, in Olney, Texas, to the late L.C. and Billie Jo (Haynes) West.  She was a lifetime resident of Olney and a member of Southside Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She married David Mack Lough on July 3, 1964, in Olney. Peggy worked for Haggar Slacks in Olney for thirty-one years and then worked for Delong Hat Manufacturing until it closed. She became a personal caregiver for Mavis Perkins and was a very compassionate caregiver for many family members. Peggy was a beautiful person inside and out. She enjoyed embroidery and loved to go fishing.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Daven Shawn Lough and a grandson, Shawn Garza.

Peggy is survived by her husband, David Mack Lough of Olney; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Ruthie Lough of Olney; one brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Barbara West of Olney; one sister, Bobbie Nell Riley of Eliasville; three grandchildren: Shyla McWhorter, Daven Lough, Dakota Lough; and one great-grandchild, Haizley Jones.
