Peggy Chambers Wellman, age 87, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Peggy was born on April 9, 1934 in Olney, Texas to the late William Clyde Chambers and Carrie Elizabeth (Phelps) Chambers. She graduated from Olney High School and married the love of her life, Thomas Henry Wellman, in 1952. She moved to Ozona in 1962, and recently moved to Graham to be with her sister Mozelle, who was her best friend. Peggy had worked as a bank president assistant until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was devoted to her church. Peggy loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dogs. She was a gifted artist and enjoyed oil painting.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Michael Leon Wellman; two sisters, Oteka Minda and Margie Womack; and one brother, Dub Chambers.

Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Debra Wellman Lindsey of Ozona, Texas and Lesley Denise Gibson; five grandchildren, Stephannie Saunders King of Ozona, Matthew Leland Wellman of Ozona, Amy Vargas of Midland, Jessie Turner and Cory Turner; one sister, Mozelle Sledge of Graham; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
