Pete Sustaita, age 82 of San Angelo, Texas, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023, at San Angelo Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2023, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas with Dr. Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church Olney, officiating.  Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Pete was born on December 5, 1941, Hearne, Texas to the late Joe and Stella (Hernandez) Sustaita. He married Mabel Campbell on March 17, 1990, in San Angelo, Texas. He was a cook for several restaurants until his retirement. Pete loved working in the yard, fishing, camping and water skiing. He especially liked to go on adventures with Mabel.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: David Sustaita, Jim Sustaita and Joe Sustaita and three sisters: Josephine Montoya, Juanita Olivas and Stella Salvato.

Pete is survived by his wife, Mabel Sustaita of San Angelo, Texas; three daughters: Sharon Sustaita of San Angelo, Texas, Shirley Mollenkopf of Evans, Georgia and Sandy Kerr of San Angelo, Texas; two brothers: Billy Sustaita of Dalhart, Texas and Ricky Sustaita of San Angelo, Texas; one sister, Lenora Guzman of San Angelo, Texas; four grandchildren, one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes a special thanks to Richard and Marcia Gomez and the nursing staff at San Angelo Nursing Home and Rehab as well as the nursing staff at Shannon Hospital and Hospice of San Angelo.
