Mr. Wesley was born on October 6, 1922 in Olney, Texas to the late Rufus Earl and Amy Holcomb Wesley. He was a lifelong resident of Olney. He married Ruby Etta Wesley April 25, 1942. They shared over 70 years of happiness and are now reunited, along with their son Terry Lynn Wesley. R E graduated from Olney High School in 1939, he then went to work for Consolidated Aircraft out of San Diego, California where he was a foreman. R E was a mechanic by trade. He was owner and operator of Wesley Auto Parts and Service handed down from his father, and shared with his son. Wesleys Auto Garage may not be standing but the mechanic gene still lives on, and is not only a part of the familys history, but a part of Olneys history as well. Mr. Wesley served as a member of the Olney Independent School District Board of Trustees when the new high school was built, was a member of the Lions Club International, taught Sunday school and was a big part of the youth group for the First United Methodist Church in Olney. He always wanted to set a good example not only for his own children, but for the children around he and Ruby Etta as well. R E enjoyed many things in his life. He was a very strong family man who took care of his family. He loved bowling, and camping, was a member of The Good Sams RV Club where he loved to travel with his friends and see the world. Once you were around the family, you were a part of the family. He loved to video and film his kids and grandkids as they grew up, but most of all just being the man that everyone that will cherish and remember as the joker, the friend, the neighbor, father, but most of all the man that always cared.
