Richard Bennett, age 92, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Hamilton Hospital in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas.
Richard was born on September 17, 1922 in Bonham, Texas, to the late Burtran and Edna (Perry) Bennett. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. He married Lee Esther White on April 23, 1952 in Olney. Richard worked as a cook at Sherman's Steakhouse in Palm Springs, California and cooked steaks for Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. He also worked as a cook for several restaurants in Olney. He retired from Coachmen Industries in Olney and then retired as janitor from Olney Elementary School. Richard delivered Meals on Wheels for the Olney Senior Cub Center. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lee Esther Bennett of Olney; one son, Richard L. Bennett of Dallas; two daughters: Carol A. Warren of Monroe, California and Constance Arrington of Garland, Texas; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
