Richard Leon Forbis, age 86, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Richard was born on January 23, 1938, to the late Rayford Samuel and Odessa Louise (Rockenbaugh) Forbis in Olney, Texas. Richard was a Quality Control Manager for Air Tractor for many years and retired in 2003. Richard was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and sharing the hobby with others as an instructor for the 4-H Trap Team. He also enjoyed setting and checking traps to see if he had caught wild hogs and liked to work in his garden. Richard was an avid golfer and also enjoyed being around horses and roping.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford and Odessa Forbis, his daughter, Mary Forbis, his sister Kay Marshall, his niece Tammi Benson, and his nephew, Jeff De Witt.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Yvette Wilson of Azle, Texas; his son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Ann Forbis of Olney, Texas; two sisters, Martha Dore of Port Aransas, Texas, and Vanessa Henson of Marshall, Texas; seven grandchildren, Nick Ramon of Azle, Texas, Samuel Wilson of Azle, Texas, Heather Ritter of Saginaw, Texas, Cody Stewart of Cleburne, Texas, Jason Forbis of Peaster, Texas, Trevor Forbis of Olney, Texas, and Ryan Forbis of Olney, Texas; sixteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
