Ricky Doran Swanzy was born on February 16, 1958 to Otis D. Swanzy and Dorothy J. (Tucker) Swanzy in Olney, Texas. Ricky went to be with his family in Heaven on September 25, 2020. Ricky passed away at Hinds Hospice in Fresno, California after battling Colon Cancer for over 3 years.

A Graveside Service will be held for him on November 14, 2020 at 11:30 am at the Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas. Pastor Robert Sanders of Alive Church in Vinita, Oklahoma will be officiating.

Ricky moved with his family from Texas to Gustine, California in 1970 due to his Dad's job being relocated to California. Ricky graduated from Gustine High School, where he participated in playing baseball. Rick was Ambidexterity, one of few people that are able to throw a ball with their Left or Right hand. After school he participated in City Wide Baseball teams and belonged to several Bowling teams over the years. He had a love for fishing and enjoyed going Deep Sea Fishing. He moved from Gustine to Newman, California when his mother came to live with him in 2011 until her death in 2017. He worked for Covanta a Waste to Energy Facility in Crows landing California for nearly 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Rebecca Ann Swanzy. He is survived by three aunts, Mozelle Sullivan of Wichita Falls, Texas, Juneata Bryson of Fort Worth, Texas and Peggy Anderson of Athens, Texas. He leaves behind several cousins in Texas and many close wonderful friends in California.
