Obituary

Robert Randall Carr, age 70, of Lockhart, Texas, died Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Reynolds Cemetery in Young County, with Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church in Olney, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Robert was born on November 27, 1950 in Olney, Texas to Billy Randall Carr and Vernnie Rose (Wages) Carr. He served in the United States Army. He married Melissa DeBusk on November 25, 1979 in Denton, Texas. In 1994, they moved from Tallahassee, Florida to Lockhart, Texas where he did classic car restoration and worked as a ranch hand. He was a good hardworking man, a simple man and he loved unconditionally! He did things his way. Robert liked bird watching, gardening and reading, but most of all, he loved taking care of his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard M. Carr, Ida Irene Carr, John Alton Wages, Ethel Leona Wages; his father, Billy Randall Carr; and two brothers, Ricky Carr and Walter Carr.

Survivors include his mother, Vernnie Rose Carr of Denton, Texas; his wife, Melissa Carr of Lockhart, Texas; four daughters, Teresa Murray and husband Danny Wyant of Ft. Worth, Texas, Deborah Carr of Denton, Texas, Mara Vereene Dupert and husband Damon of Lockhart, Texas and Tayna Brown and husband Philip of Austin, Texas; two sons, Jeunus Carr of Loveland, Colorado and Dalon Carr of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Gene Carr and wife Carolyn of Bryan, Texas and Glenn Carr of Denton, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Mara Lilly Dupert, Evening Rain Carr, Nola Dew Estrada, Brandi McCray, Star Chambless, Nicholas Murray, Katelyn Black, Matthew Black, April Sweitzer, Hazel Dupert and Violet Rose Brown; fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
