Roberta Gene (Bobbie) Bishop, age 88, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Grace Care Center in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Megargel Cemetery in Megargel, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Bobbie was born November 20, 1926 in Baylor County to William Oler Alexander and Mollie Mae Brinkley Alexander near Westover, Texas.

After graduating from Westover High School, Bobbie attended North Texas State Teacher's College. While teaching at Megargel grade school, she met and married Billie O. Bishop in 1948. Bobbie loved playing piano, substitute teaching, and loving and caring for her family. Over the years she worked at the Haggar Slack factory in Olney, Texas and served as City Secretary to Megargel, Texas for 5 years.

Bobbie was preceded in death by a son, Barry Lee Bishop in 1973, a sister Marjorie Farr and a brother Bill R. Alexander.

She is survived by her husband, Odell Bishop; a son Brent A. Bishop and wife Kimbra of Westover, Texas, their children Jared of Muncie, Indiana, Julia of Austin, and Jake of Throckmorton; and a daughter Alisa Bishop of Aurora, Colorado, as well as sisters Frances Copeland (Olney, TX), Doris Richardson (Pasadena, TX), Glenda Potter (Bridgewater, SD), Betty Williams (Wichita Falls, TX); sisters-in-law Elda Froman (Archer City, TX) and Nevelyn Alexander (Bryan, TX), and many nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home.
