Ronald L. "Big Pop" Harbaugh, age 85, died Thursday, February 17, 2022 at his home in Olney. Private family memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Ronald was born April 23, 1936, in Mount Pleasant Township, Pennsylvania to the late Ross Harbaugh and Mary (Weightman) Harbaugh. He married Carolyn Jean Huffman on April 16, 1962, in Wilmington, Ohio. She preceded him in death on November 6, 2010. Ronald served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, Det 3, 2046 Communications Squadron, as an air traffic control operator. He received numerous medals and badges including the Good Conduct Medal Bronze Clasp with 2 loops and the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon. After his military service, he worked as a civil service carpenter and continued that career until his retirement.  He was very outgoing, never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone that needed it. Ronald loved to travel. He was very loved by his whole family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Ross Harbaugh, one brother and three sisters.

Ronald is survived by one son, Ronald Harbaugh, Jr. and wife Christina Smith of Olney, Texas; one daughter, Karen Harbaugh of Springtown, Texas; six grandchildren: Bridget Penn Britton and husband Daniel of Springtown, Texas, John Penn and wife Angela of Wichita Falls, Texas, Carol Anne Moore and husband Jon of Altus, Oklahoma, Meagan Smith, Kristy Smith and Alton Smith, all of Olney, Texas; and two great-grandchildren: Zane Britton of Springtown, Texas and Thomas Penn of Wichita Falls, Texas.
