Roy F. Blevins, age 81, died Monday, May 7, 2012 in Olney, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Southside Baptist Church of Olney with Brian Quisenberry of Crowley officiating, assisted by Richard Lunsford of Olney. Burial will follow in Newcastle Cemetery. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Roy was born September 8, 1930 in Wetumka, Oklahoma,to the late Robert Franklin and PearlSanders Blevins. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Ernestine Neis in Abernathy, Texas in 1954. He married Willie Mae Floyd in May of 1963. She preceded him in death May 8, 2009. He was a longtime resident of Newcastle, Texas and recently moved to Olney in 2011. He was a harvester. He was a Christian. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son Dwayne Blevins, and one daughter Roi Diane Blevins two brothers Herman Smith, and Robert Clifford Blevins and two sisters Juanita Gonzales, and Lois Cooper.

Survivors include one son Darrell Blevins and wife Brenda of Plainview, Texas one daughter Velda Moses of Abernathy, Texas one stepson Leon Parsons of Angleton, Texas one brother, Clyde Smith of Selma, California three sisters, Della Mayfield of Granbury, Texas, Zelma Underwood of Graham, Texas, and Retha Wilson and husband Jackie of Olney, Texas five grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren.
